KOTA: King of the Apocalypse

ZENZO Forge Tech Demo

KOTA Overview

• FPS • Survival • Strategy

KOTA (King of the Apocalypse) is about the player trying to survive and build up an encampment during a zombie apocalypse. With the end goal being that they become too powerful and self sufficient that they can consider themselves King Of The Apocalypse. To do so, they need to help clear out areas of un-dead, find the resources to build each required component of their camp/village/town as well as join other players in PVE events to earn even greater rewards. However, even though the world is full of zombies, the player will come across and house a multitude of NPC’s who they can use their specific skills to their advantage to help the settlement grow. Some inspirations behind KOTA were Left 4 Dead(FPS) and State Of Survival (RTS). However, KOTA is different as it takes elements from each game type and melds it into one game. You can micro manage your encampment from an overhead view in real time, but if you ever need to defend your home or you decide to go out and complete a mission yourself, you can protect your people first hand and in a first person view. Players are not running away from the enemy like in most apocalyptic (mainly zombie) games, they will be encouraged to relish in taking them on face to face.

The ZENZO Forge is a decentralized solution that allows for players to have complete ownership of their in-game items, without having to pay for ridiculously expensive transactions fees for every single action in the game. On top of that, the ZENZO Forge functions as a peer-to-peer network that players run, while playing the game, just like a game launcher. Each player running this “launcher" is hosting a node that helps to distribute and strengthen the network efficiency.
